GOMA

A section of Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art. A fantastic building that sometimes outshines the art inside, especially on a lovely day like this.

Originally a merchants house I think, I mostly remember this building growing up as the home of Stirling's Library (can't quite remember who Stirling was but he collected a lot of books!). Once converted into this gallery its become a great place to hang out, and they've handily put a library and coffee shop on the bottom floor.

GOMA sits on Royal Exchange Square and on days like this, when the sun shines, the square is full of outside cafes and restaurants. You've got to admire Glasweigians: we get about ten days a year like this but when the sun unexpectedly arrives it only takes us minutes to get out the sunglasses, sandles and cafe society.
