Rain
We had been waiting for months to get our guttering fixed after the heavy snow during the winter, having finally got the builder, along with most of our neighbours, to admit liability for the initial shoddy work. The builders finally arrived at the start of May and ripped off the existing gutters and fascia in preparation for fitting the missing boards underneath (which the screws should have been secured to but were, instead, screwed through the fascia into fresh air).
The weather had been nice in the weeks leading up to the builders' arrival and it was nice for their first day onsite as well. An hour after they left, with the guttering and fascia still missing, the heavens opened and a downpour landed on our house. As my wife keeps telling me, if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
