Duckies!

After walking across the common yesterday, looking at the flags, I strolled over to the Public Garden and was surprised and delighted to find some ducklings. I'd kind of given up this year. The little duckies had to be my blip for today, so detoured into work that way and managed to capture a couple. There are at least 2 families, these little guys, who are quite new, and another set a week or two older.

Ducklings always impress me with their independence. They are everywhere, tiny little balls of fluff, striking it out alone across the pond with reckless abandon. Compare this with goslings, always fiercely protected by both parents and swimming in military formation with one adult at the front and one at the rear.
