A better day
The calf we had tube-fed yesterday was much better this morning and looking for more so we tried feeding it straight from a bucket sucking through N's immersed fingers. This it did greedily. Still early days but it has a greater chance of survival.
The prospective tractor buyer from Lincolnshire turned up early after a five hour journey with his son who went over the machine with a tooth-comb and found nothing wrong. He liked what he saw and without stopping for coffee they turned round and went home again saying they would phone later with what they had decided. Their offer was lower than what we were asking but a price was agreed and with luck the tractor should be on its way north when the money is in the bank. The other interested farmer from Cheshire had cooled off a little as he said his son wanted front suspension.
I went to the retail park this afteroon to buy a kettle for the farmyard. When the box was opened there was no base for the kettle as shown on the photograph and on the demonstration model. This really makes me mad! A sealed box too!
