first grade writer

While volunteering at school one first grader tugged on my arm to read to me her writer's workshop paper. This young writer had such joy in sharing. Made my day.
Text - 'Me and my dad went to the rec center. I swam...Hannah' and she continued writing on the back. 'and (did) karate. I shouted hi Katie.'
