Poppies in the wheat

I love the dots of red that have appeared all over this wheat field just up the road from us so I popped up first thing on the way to the allotment.

When I got to the allotment with a few jobs in mind I was horrified to find it had become a sea of weeds (been very busy lately!) and so I spent the entire time weeding. I was in a real rush because we had planned to take our two-year-old swimming.

I needn't have rushed, we arrived an hour before they opened the toddler pool so we sat outside on the grass and waited. In fact that hour of enforced doing nothing was one of the nicest bits of the day. Along with the swimming, which Nancy just loved.
