My daily commute

In memory of.....

Tonight was the "Relay for Life" in our village to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. For several years, my sister and I have volunteered at a dinner held for all cancer survivors in our area. It is always an emotional dinner. My nephew Jordan (Jordo's Photographie) joined us today to volunteer at the dinner.

We then moved to the local high school soccer field for the relay and at dark, luminaries lining the track werelit while Amazing Grace was played by a bag piper. Needless to say, it was a very emotional evening.

This blip shows one of the luminaries in memory of my father who passed away just over 9 years ago.....and yes, he had cancer. We also had luminaries in memory of my grandfather, two aunts, and my sister's father-in-law. Our family and extended family has been touched by cancer several times over and now, we have someone who will have her second chemo treatment on Monday.
