Wet and Windy Wellie
This morning we headed back into Wellington (from the Hutt) to go to the wildlife sanctuary at Karori. Unfortunately Wellington lived up to her reputation as being a little windy - and when we got there the rain was driving sideways. The weather was far too bad to even think about wandering round the sanctuary so that will now have to wait for another trip.
From there we crossed town and took a drive around Oriental Bay and over to Seatoun - just because Mum and I both like the coast (could explain why she lives in Hokitika). Every time I got out of the car to take another photo, I was putting my life at risk. Of either being blown into the sea or the traffic, dependent on which way the various gusts were hitting.
It was a hard choice today - the various sea and city views, the Orcs at Wellington Airport, the motorway off ramp in Lower Hutt that our motel was vitually under, or the sanctuary wall which bears a Henri Bergsen saying ("The future can no longer be: What is going to Happen? It is: What are we going to do about it?). Decisions, decisions!
In the end I've chosen this one taken from Oriental Bay looking back the way we'd come. The colours are unaltered from what the camera saw. Sort of shows what the weather was like at 11 o'clock this morning in Wellington.
