Going on Safari
We headed home today via Longleat Safari Park. Master Pink has been learning about African Animals at school over the last half term, andand we thought it would be exciting for him to see some of the animals up close. The safari park was really good. We braved the monkeys, and came away unscathed, although two or three had a good climb on the car. The car in front wasn't so lucky and was stripped of it's rubber details from it's roof. We saw the Lions, tigers and wolves which was very exciting for Master Pink. In the Fallow Deer enclosure, food can be bought to feed them with. We leaned out of the windows and the Deer came right up to the car. Very cute. Miss Pink said hello to each animal as we went round the park, "hello, Girafeeees!".
After the animal safari we went to look round the grounds of Longleat. I had no hope of looking round the house or it's formal gardens, so didn't try, but we all enjoyed the adventure playground, the Maze, and Postman Pat's village. Some how we missed a chunk out with the butterfly house in it, but we did see the meerkats, and Miss Pink thought they were fab.
The long drive home involved lots of I-Spy and football on the radio. Miss Pink had the right idea and slept through most of it!
