Two Smarts
This is possibly the first time ever (outside a Smart dealership) that our Smart has ever parked directly next to another Smart car.
Now in Europe, Smarts are not uncommon, however, in the US, Smarts are very uncommon. In fact, in 1300 miles up to New York we have only seen 1 other Smart car in the wild (this one is a tame one, owned by a friend so doesn't count). This particular Smart is about 4-5 month older than ours and is sitting on 97,000 miles compared to our Smart at 15,000!
We then took this little Smart up into New York City for the evening, which involved some "interesting" driving. I don't generally have a problem with driving in aggressive cities, and NYC was no problem either. The pot holes were something else though, and frankly a city as wealthy as NYC should be ashamed of the condition of the road surfaces for the price of all the tolls for bridges and Turnpikes etc.
There are 3rd world cities with roads in better condition than NYC.
However, a Floridian Smart car spent the better part of the evening cutting up NYC taxi drivers and various other loons. There was no "country" thing going on with us last night.
The NYC/Jersey City road signs are a complete nightmare though. Why they even bother with a sign I'm not sure so we did get rather lost as one point. But we soon cheered up when we cut up 4 locals who read the road wrong. Our Smart took no prisoners.
