This is England
Couldn't be more quaint, could it. But it's not just any old lane in South West England, it's a rather expensive one. These are holiday cottages in the grounds of The Manor Hotel in Castle Combe.
We had a voucher from The Sunday Times to eat in the golf club restaurant, 3 courses for £15. Wasn't worth it though and we weren't that impressed with the menu. As a veggie, my options were bubble and squeak or cauliflower cheese, both of which I consider to be side dishes and not exciting enough to qualify as a main course.
We decided to leave after 2 courses, so it was good of the manager to let us have the 2 courses for £10. Can't fault the staff at least.
Hope everyone's had a good weekend and that you're looking forward to Monday morning more than I am!!
