GI Bride

This statue is in Partick train station and was created for the Oran Mor Homecoming year of 2009-2010.

GI Bride is a famous cartoon character created by Bud Neil. He was a Scottish cartoonist whose creations were to be found in many Glasgow newspapers, such as the Evening Citizen and The Evening Times.

His most famous creation was Lobey Dosser and his two legged horse, Elfie. He was the sheriff of Calton Creek. The baddie in the piece was Rank Bajin. It may have been the wild west in idea ... but the heart and soul is 100% Glaswegian!
