Ice Road by Gillian Slovo

It's a while since I last featured a book in my blip journal, but I've been so gripped by this one that I felt I wanted to feature it on here.

The `ice road' of the title was the passage across frozen Lake Ladoga, which allowed the workers of Leningrad to survive the Nazi onslaught through the winter of 1941-42.
