Tidebell

This is not a cup, but part of a tidebell. The second part is mounted under the bell you see here, and a clapper is put in which is agitated by the movement of the water in tidal areas. Which gives you a 'dong'. There will be a dozen of the things posted all along the UK coastline. More information here.
