Meadows Festival

Went along to the Meadows Festival today and wandered amongst the stalls. Won a dodgy silk scarf at the Edinburgh Southside Labour Party stall (to be honest I was after the half bottle of gin which I noticed was still there when I left. I'm not saying it was a fix...).

The whalebone arch always fascinates me, more so after reading Philip Hoare's excellent book Leviathan. I cannot find any info about what type of whale it came from and anything of its history on Google. Anyone?
