The Blinder

Following on from yesterday's old style football sketch and in response to Booky's blip I thought I'd show you one of my favourite book covers.

The book is by Barry Hines, the author of Kes, and is basically a football version of This Sporting Life by David Storey with a big dash of John Braine's Room at the Top thrown in.

The book was first published in 1966 and the cover dates from a 1979 edition. Unfortunately it's been out of print for a while - shame for such a great read.
