Never trust the directions from a local.....

So, the plan today was to head out to Gifford, in East Lothian with korovamilkbar in search of this place., in the grounds of Yester House.

We were reliably told by THREE different people the direction we should be heading (all the same general area), and that it was about "one and a half miles away". Not too far we thought, easy to find, we thought......

After traipsing up and down wooded hills, jumping over muddy puddles and clambered over fallen trees for over 3 hours, we finally gave up and headed back to the car.

Listed as Scotland's most expensive house on the market at £15 million, it's now been reduced to a more managable £8 million. I notice the castle has been removed from the listing now....no wonder, they'd never be able to find the bloody place!! According to the interweb, Lady Gaga was rumored to be interested in buying the place. How gastly!

Once home, korovamilkbar did a bit of research, and found that the castle is nowhere near where we were being sent..........it's the other side of the estate. Bloody locals!!

It wasn't all bad though. We had a lovely day. It stayed dry. We saw woodland creatures, and the smell of pine resin and wild garlic was amazing.....

My blip is of the lovely bridge at the edge of the lawns at the front of the house. I like the shape of the arch, and the ivy hanging down underneath the bridge.
