Drumming for attention

It started off as a lovely, sunny day, and F and I had an enjoyable walk around West Norwood cemetery. I was hoping to capture the elusive green woodpecker on the new zoom, but this great-spotted woodpecker appeared instead. He was making a lot of drumming noises, and I captured a much better, sharper view of his back. He turned round only once! And I was hopping from grave to grave to try and snap him without branches coming into focus. Must have looked like a madwoman!

One of the neighbourhood squirrels was also being photogenic today.

Then the heavens opened and covered the ground with hail. Luckily, we were indoors playing Scrabble by the roaring fire by then.
