A snap out of the window from work in Inverness this afternoon. The gloom is engulfing the Tore area of the Black Isle. The associated sparks, rumbles, and downpour, followed soon after this.
I made it home dry this evening, with a similar area of blackness following behind me. Took a wander with a camera as the rain started, and South of Munlochy I saw my first tornado funnel. It was possibly a couple of miles, or more away, and I think it was there for a few minutes - had to take cover as the rain became nigh torrential. Sods Law of course - guess who came out the house with just an ultra wide angled lens. Even if I had had a telephoto lens, I wouldn't have been to keen to have washed it in the deluge.
