Guesswork

I was intrigued the other day by Appreciation's mention of something called stovies.

I had a look on Google images and found that there are thousands of different interpretations of stovies but most look like a mixture of dog sick and wallpaper paste. The common thread seems to be spuds, some meat, onion, liquid and definitely, definitely nothing green of any sort!

I challenged Appreciation to come up with a classy shot of stovies but I hear a deafening silence.

So here's my own interpretation with no green in the dish but in the background (is that too close to veg for those North of the border?)
