No 80: Ring Ouzel!!!
Yesterday's blip was late, coming as it did after a crepuscular outing. Today's is early following an auroral trip. I was up before the lark this morning to have another crack at the ring ouzel. Those of you who've followed my bird-blipping progress will know that I did get a shot of this moorland bird but it was so poor that I decided not to blip it, and I was beginning to worry that I might never get another opportunity after 2 missions where I saw them but couldn't get any sort of a shot. I spent several hours in the company of ring ouzels this morning, listening to their piping song and watching them on their craggy perches. The light changed constantly - I got rained and shone on. Whatever the light, the birds chose the wrong place for me to get a decent shot. This as you would imagine is the best of the bunch; much better than the previous one, but certainly worked for: 4th trip and long hours put in. Hot bath when I got in and now for a nice bowl of hot soup!
