Gulf Fritillary

Whenever I see one of Florida's gorgeous butterflies, I proclaim it to be my favorite, although in truth, I love them all, as they are all so beautiful. The Gulf Fritillaries are turning up regularly now, still a little coy, although as the summer goes on, they stay on the blooms longer and fly more slowly it seems, allowing for better opportunities to capture them. This butterfly is actually more beautiful from underneath, although the topside is none too shabby.
