Tie, Tie, Tie

Babysat my lovely cousins again today. The older, Sarah, is 8...she can't tie her shoes. I figured she knew how by now, but as my aunt and uncle were leaving they said try to have her practice tying. I was puzzled. Did I know how to tie my shoes at eight years old?
