Al Alamein War Memorial

Went to see the Allied forces war memorial today. Such a huge number of graves and yet such a tiny fraction of the people who lost their lives in the war.

It was a haunting place but also extremely pleasing to see what great respect was paid to the memorial. Immaculate surroundings for the graves of some 12,000 allied soldiers.

Ages ranged from 17- 33, so some of these graves were for men who were too young to vote or barley old enough to drive.
