Went to Dunvegan Castle today. I was too busy taking photographs to notice Em and Martyn disappearing off to the walled garden.

They came back a little while later - and to my surprise and delight, Em was grinning Cheshire-cat like, and wearing an engagement ring! He'd phoned me in November, asking for my permission :)

As they chattered excitedly, I overheard Em asking 'when does it have to go back then?' of her new fiance .......

I'd been too busy and hadn't heard the first part of the conversation - that he'd collected the ring before the jeweller had had chance to send it off for hallmarking!

And there's no bluddy champagne in the house!! :(
