Benson Knott

Today's the day ....................... to look to the hills

This is the view over the roofs of Kendal that I see almost on a daily basis. The hill in the distance is called Benson Knott and you can just about make out a hazy rainbow that was in the sky today.

Benson Knott always makes me think of something said by one of the trainers of the local football club that my son used to play for when he was young. They had just got a new football strip, sponsored by a local firm, of which they were all very proud. Unfortunately, one young lad in the team found that even the smallest size shorts available, came down way below his knees.

"Careful lad" said the trainer, "A bit o' wind - and it'll tak ye right up o'er Benson Knott ................"
