Killer Instinct

My girlfriend and I went to the local botanical gardens for a little relaxation and a chance to take photos together. At the very end of our walk through the gardens, I noticed this, what I believe to be, hornet having lunch.

The grasshopper's body looks oddly pale, so I'm not sure what exactly was the circumstance of its demise. I'm not an entomologist, so I can't really make an educated guess.

This image is cropped and is why it isn't terribly sharp. I would really love to get a Nikon 200mm micro!!
