Behold the Beast of The Denburn!

What a beauty! Arguably the largest fish ever seen in The Denburn - on display to the public for the first time ... well that's one of the lines I was using to reel punters in from Schoolhill Viaduct today ;-)

OK, its plastic ... it was one of many fish hung up in the trees of Union Terrace Gardens today during The Big Picnic II event arranged by the Friends of Union Terrace Gardens as part of the ongoing campaign to save and improve the green heart of Aberdeen. Today's event was a picnic in the park with free entertainment provided by a range of musicians and artists.

A year ago, I blipped from the first Big Picnic, this time I was stewarding all day so didn't get a chance to wander about taking pics or even go see the bands on stage :-( but stewarding was my job today and I'd gladly do it again and again and again if it helps even in a tiny way to save this park.

Thanks to all the people who turned up - amazingly 1,168 were counted through the gates on a day of persistent rain :-) - including several Aberdeen blippers Meester Feature (and the rest of The Lorelei who played a set), Sonny and Us & Lyn's Things .
