The Untrained Eye

Beautiful book

This lovely book was printed in 1929. It is an eighteenth impression and the first was printed in 1918 , just three years, and towards the end of world war one, after the death of its subject Rupert Brooke, he of -

" If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is forever England........"

from his poem " The Soldier" fame.

What I cannot get over is the quality of binding, the embossing, the hand torn pages or whatever it is called. It really is special. But I think it is just another book of its time and of little monetary value. But money isn't everything.
