tour of the reservoir
Plan=start the ride at 8am
Actual, someone wanted milk at 4am so I didn?t roll out of bed till 10 or summit.
Got going at 11:15 knowing that I was gonna get wet at some point.
I quite enjoyed the ride for being on the road.
Probably the only good thing about living up here is there are a lot of low traffic scenic roads on the door step.
Was pretty slow at the start due to carrying over two litres of water and food, also stopped quite often for photos.
When the rain kicked in proper at 40 miles it caused my computer to reset (2nd time this has happened) I lost all my info!! Wasn?t happy.
I knew my start time and I?ve had to map it out on mapmyride, 62miles 3000 ft of climbing took 5hrs 15mins. Which is a bit slow to get silver in the cyclone :o(
Had a near miss going down into blanchland when due to the rain I drifted to the middle of the road round a slight bend, same time a range rover was also in the middle of the road avoiding people. was heading right for it so braked and swerve left, back wheel skidded side wards so stuck my foot down to stopped going down, which caused my back wheel to go up in the air.
Had avoided the rangerover at this point but was doing an endo and a tailwhip and was waiting for the front to washout and a lot of skin lost but released the brake and some how managed to get the back wheel on the ground and continue on.
For a second I thought I was dead like as all I saw was a range rover front grill directly in front 10 meters away. I don't know how i missed it and avoided coming off after
Overall been a good ride and didn?t feel complete wrecked at the end.
