Where the bee sucks
Where the bee sucks, there suck I;
In a cowslip's bell I lie;
There I couch when owls do cry.
On the bat's back I do fly
After summer merrily.
Merrily, merrily shall I live now
Under the blossom that hangs on the bough.
-- William Shakespeare
Before my wife and I got marreid, when we were just friends, she took me to see the Mark Morris dance ensemble at the Edinburgh Festival. His troupe made up the the majority of programme, but Mark himself danced, near the end, to some of Shakespeare's songs, one of which was this one. He entered stage right wearing a tutu and bees wings, holding a lyre, long hair flying and looking quite tubby. It got a huge laugh.
