It Never Rains in Rio

It was billed as "one for the camera." And it didn't disappoint. Today the city streets teemed with people, giants, about 100, samba bands and rain!

Despite the incessant downpour spirits remained high as the carnival atmosphere prevailed.

Lots of photos of the wonderful giants, you will get a flavour here, to choose from. I was also pleased with some of the images of the samba bands which captured their movement and rhythm but for me this young lady from the Liverpool samba band, Batala, lit up the whole of Chester on her own.
