Cha's
The only tip I would give to anyone who wants to visit China is: forget boring Big Mac, never miss local restaurants. I mean, NEVER.
Dianping.com provides restaurant rating service in Shanghai. So far, 53,013 restaurants have opened their rating page on the website. If I eat in one registered restaurant each day, it would take me 145 years to finish all of them.
Moreover, there are three undebatable facts shared by locals:
1. The number of unregistered restaurants is much much bigger than that of registered ones. 53,013 is quite a conservative estimation.
2. Restaurants in Shanghai are too crowded. We need more!!!
3. Shanghai is not considered as a city with food culture. Many people would travel to other cities in holiday for better food.
Cha's is a good one. Before I headed there for dinner comments on Dianping.com warned me that there would be a very long queue. I expected that as well. Arrived at the Cha's at 10 pm, I got a ticket at the front desk. The ticket indicated that 60 tables would be taken before I got mine. Desperately, the whole restaurant only has 20 tables. Well, well, good luck girl.
