BABE Rally Day 3
Well, the best road ever was on the rally today. 12 miles of gravel road and I threw the Smart into it the best I could.
Unfortunately I was up against stability control which meant my heroic powerslides on every single corner lasted about 1.5 seconds, before the car's computer cut my driving prowess in half. If anything it was quite interesting feeling which brake it would clamp (it would brake on a single brake if needs be to), and then feel the whole car come straight again.
However, after 100+ turns I managed to powerslide a single corner in 1 second bursts fairly successfully, and only ever once had the car "out of control".
As soon as we came out of Joe Brown Highway we discovered this amphibious vehicle in a tree. It deserved a blip (albeit late).
Essentially this vehicle did have wheels, but it was propped up on wood, and the wheels were up on the deck, so this thing drove to this location. But it was a wonderful find in the depths of Tennessee. I wouldn't say it was unique as you'll find lots of strange vehicles in the vegetation if you look carefully. But still a great vehicle and maybe my wife will let me own one ;)
