Can we have a puppy?

Becca came to visit today. She used to live with us, for more than a few years, and I do still miss her a bit. One long summer she and Louise so wanted a puppy - Becca had never been allowed a puppy, and always wanted a chocolate labrador. And Louise so wanted a puppy to replace our last Shetland Sheepdog, who died the summer before. And so we had Ruby.
Then Becca moved to Worcester, and Louise went off to explore the Outback of Australia, and I found myself left with a puppy that had grown into a dog. I'm not complaining, I've grown quite fond of the dog, and I still love those gals.
