Shopping trip
Spent the morning in St Albans with the wife, buying clothes. In my defence, it was her idea, although I only have one pair of jeans which I wear to death so I needed to go.
We spent quite a lot, and really paid some silly prices, but we had saved the money I guess, and we are out of the recession right?
Spending £50 on a pair of jeans for the first time in my life, it made me think about how I have changed. 10 years ago I bought most of my clothes from Burtons, usually on some kind of sale or two for £30 kind of deal. Now I won't go in there. 10 years ago I used to laugh at how people would pay £3 for a cup of coffee in a Costa or Starbucks, thinking it was a waste of money. Now I love going out for a coffee. 10 years ago my idea of a meal out was the two meals for £10 in the Tally Ho Wetherspoons in North Finchley. Now I go everywhere else as regularly as I can afford it.
Maybe I was just always cheap and as I've got older I have realised I don't have to be cheap all of the time?
