back in the saddle

The white plastic trash bag is to keep my fracture boot dry as I have to start back to work tomorrow and I don't want to have to smell like swamp water all day. I have ordered (quant. #2) aircast sport braces from Amazon which should be here soon. They are much smaller and hopefully will give me the same support as the fracture boot. I have a followup orthopedic appointment June 20th and I hope I can start weight bearing then.

Today was pretty early on but you can glimpse the clouds and humidity which turned to afternoon thunderstorms.

It was nice getting back in a boat. This one is an Old Town that was destined for the scrap heap until I salvaged it and patched the stern with a large piece of aluminum sign, a box of stainless steel bolts and several tubes of silicone caulk.

I'm glad we have it because it has a huge cockpit. I wouldn't be able to fit in my usual boat with my fracture boot on.
