The old railroad bridge bed

This is the bed of a decrepit railroad bridge that crosses a little creek in Monroe County, Indiana. Maybe 25 feet above the creek. It's age is unknown to me. I've often wondered if it wasn't built around the time of the Civil War.

The rails appear to have been removed long ago. Now all that remains are old timbers with plants growing from and between them on an aging wooden framework.
