Harriet the Hulk

Harriet is not green, and you cannot make her angry, but she is a super hero.

Let me explain. At Purton, the Gloucester to Sharpness canal passes within 50m of the river Severn. At the turn of the last century river erosion threatened the canal, so they intentionally beached barges to strengthen the canal bank. Over the course of 50 years 81 boats were beached which has created an eerie boat grave yard.

In other exciting news... Dozy sat her GCSE Geography exam today. I hope she remembered to colour in the coastlines a nice shade of blue.

Whilst walking around Purton Hulks, the irony of Dozy struggling through a 'joggers' exam on waterways, erosion and flooding, whilst I was looking at a classic case study, did not escape me.
