Very Great and Rapidly Increasing
This morning, having half an hour's leisure in bed before I needed to saddle up and mount my bicycle and head into town, I became acquainted with Sylvester Graham's A Lecture to Young Men (1834), which begins with the solemn warning that 'self-pollution is actually a very great and rapidly increasing evil in our country.'
So, while enjoying the gentle curve that sped me past Glasgow City Heliport, hugging its perimeter fence, I couldn't help but pause and admire the view to my right.
