'Allo 'Allo!

A blip of pure tedium today: his and hers phones.

The cheapo Nokia is mine. I've had it for about 3 years and still don't like it. I hardly ever use it, but it does what I need, which is mainly fielding the occasional panicked phonecall from one of the kids to tell me they've missed their bus again. Although I'd probably enjoy an iPhone or a Blackberry, I don't need one and can't afford one, so that simplifies smartphone ownership for me.

The ugly brick beside it is T's satellite phone, which his boss says he has to have for work. It's so new it still has that piece of plastic film to protect the screen, making it look dead cheesy, if you ask me. It doesn't work inside buildings or cars so he's been testing it out in the fields around the village. I think he looks quite silly using it, especially as it can't call the moon where Elvis reportedly resides.

Ah, technology.
