A Typical Cornish Scene

Although usually there's more colour.

I need to do some research on why it is I prefer so many photographs in mono. There must be a theory on why black and white (or in this case, antique/sepia) can seem more effective.

Does anyone know?

I was really undecided for some time as to whether I should post the original colour version.
