I decided to participate in this photo exhibition the camera club is organizing in August. So a few of my photos will be there with the photos of others in the young people's group. Exciting :)


There was a "traditional Juhannus betting" at our work place. The idea is to guess how many Finns will drown this Juhannus (a Finnish midsummer feast). Everyone who wants can bet on one number and only one bet for one number is allowed. Only one number per person, and a number costs a bottle of Koskenkorva vodka (0,5l). The one who guesses the right number gets all the Koskenkorva.

It's very dark humour, I know. Juhannus is usually a time when a lot of Finns drown, mainly because it is a festivity that combines being on one's summer cottage (usually near a lake or the sea) and drinking lots of alcohol. The number of people drowned is pretty much directly proportional to the warmth of the day...
