today I ...

...broke into the office.

That's not so evil as I have the keys and can pay a short visit although on a bank holiday...

Ok, so were entering here the 'manifesto for a better Britain'. As I can't contribute to make the UK a better place I should set a reference range.
Today's topic is the NHS or let's just call it The health System.

And what has my office to do with it? Ah, yes, I get paid for doing the quarterly billing of our medical lab with the "State health insurances" or better the organization in between.
You see, that's one my places in the world of health care. And what it's all about: money.
Yes, naturally there's the system's main intention of healing people or making people feel better. But it costs and after all the politics/medics/society are worrying about how to pay all that what might be needed (and the valuation of that we leave willingly to the lobbyists). Patients are going to be organized and managed. For the greater public good. Somehow logically. But only somehow.

Which leads me to my other place in the world of health care. As a human being I am a patient. And unfortunately not with a thoroughly rosy health.
Each group if medics has their budget, a formalized average of some minutes to spend with the patient. What if they have patients who need more attention? Cut it from the others. What if they can't cut even more? Work for nuffin.
I can barely breathe sometimes and it's getting worse? Losing equilibrity? Hum, every medic checked the problem within their narrow lines, amongst each other they're not talking. Nothing to find, maybe some ideas, so refer me to another. Until the circle is done and I'm too tired and see what I shall do on my own. Personal responsibility, maybe the best measure anyway.
And with more grave gouts? I'm too sick of being treated like cattle, so as long as I can stand it I'll try to take care of myself.
(No, I don't want to say that the medics here are incompetent. Some of the medical practice's staff are doing amazing things. We're at a point where only the commitment of people working in the practices can beat the system. Under the aspect of caring for their patients, of the financial aspect I'm not talking here...

And somehow it's so logic, it all has to be paid and the funds are limited. They are. Are they? How much does the government spend on conserving a perishing system, the economy despite knowing there can't be infinite economic growth. Ahh, yes, it's neccessary for gaining the funds for the health system. Stupid me.

More general information about the German Health Care system see wiki pedia or wherever in the internet. Or just don't.

You were looking for somewhat nicer? Just go back a bit or skip the following days... But that's how my world is...
