Killdeer

Something different than iris...finally! These little killdeer are all around in our neighborhood. They have nests in various places around the hood. If they spot you, they will spread their wings and flip around to make you think they're hurt to distract you away from their nest. They are pretty cute to watch, and they do make quite a fuss. Actually, I think I know some people like that, too!
