Traditional Thai Dessert

This dessert is made from shaved ice, sweet syrup made from sugar and flowers, and candied fruit, red beans, tapioca balls, or jello cubes. The ice block is run across a sharp blade shaving light snow-like flakes into a bowl underneath. Your choice of three toppings are scooped in and sweet syrup is poured over the top. It's delicious and especially refreshing on a hot day. One of my Thai friends introduced me to this dessert shop. She said this shop has been open for more years than she has been alive.
