Backlit contrail

Last evening was lovely, cloud-wise. A real mix of fluffy low-down cumulus and delicate, high-up cirrus and altostratus.

The air was really still, so all the aircraft contrails hung around for a while as well.

To top it off, the sun was positioned so the cumulus were in shadow, but the higher-up contrails were beautifully backlit.
