No time to waste?

Sorry if this is a bit of a let-down after yesterday's build-up.... Went to the Eden Estuary nature reserve this afternoon, planning to have a look in the visitor centre and follow a marked walk along the river, round and down to the estuary and back to the car. The visitor centre was locked, and needed a code to get in - we didn't have our mobiles to do that. The walk was rather overgrown, which Jem wasn't prepared for, so that didn't work.

We then went along to try to find Morton Lochs, which is new to me despite having been around Tentsmuir all of my life! But there's no sign from the main road, so we ended up in Tayport! Had to go back and take a gamble down a rough track, thankfully the right place. They have an excellent website for these places, but clearly need to think a little about how to make them a wee bit more visitor friendly!

Anyway, the lochs were nice - highlight was some little grebes, just one teal, various other water birds with young . A few damselflies, though no shots as good as this! Here's a Peacock butterfly, the underside - I love the way the sun shines through the wings.
