Masons

Today at work, we were talking about 'masons'. Not stone masons................... the 'masons' that go to the 'Masonic Lodge' and do 'secret things'.

Many years ago (1994 to be precise) I had a boyfriend called Dennis who was a 'mason'. I was the 'love of his life' (unfortunately he wasn't mine) but could I get him to tell me what masons did? I could not.

Dennis had a suitcase which he kept in his hall. And in this suitcase were all his 'Masonic' things. The only thing that I never saw was some sort of sash. Everything else in the suitcase was 'secret'. I'm assuming he kept it in the hall so that it was ready for him to pick up and take out to 'mason' meetings.

We had a 'long distance' relationship so I don't even know how often he went to the 'Masonic Lodge' but I'm guessing it was once a week.

I don't know anything about 'masons' apart from the fact that they have a 'secret handshake', women aren't allowed to join and everything that happens at their meetings is a closely guarded secret.

Dennis never talked about the 'masons'. I think I only found out he was a member because I asked him why he had a suitcase in his hallway?!

My relationship with Dennis didn't last long - the failure didn't have anything to do with the 'masons'. Though looking back - any man who wants to do stuff in secret with other men must be a bit weird???

And by the way - I've blipped a pink suitcase because I don't have a 'Masonic' one!
