Sugarlandia

Back to my homeland - a big island blessed by fertile land, divided by mountain peaks, blended by caves, waterfalls, and hills, and surrounded by fine beaches that you sometimes can enjoy just to yourselves.

It is home to the bourgeois and the elite - who got their wealth from the production of sugar. Beautiful people also abound the island as there is a great mix of Spanish, French, Chinese, Malay, and German ancestry. On the agricultural areas of the island, one can witness breathtaking views of sugar cane plantations.

On this picture, you can see sprouting rows of sugarcane amid old dry ones and the Kanlaon Volcano - one of the highest peaks and one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines.

This is my island, my home, my NEGROS!
